To the editor,
This is a note of appreciation and, more important a report on a changed reaction to La Voce.
From the first, yours was an interesting and valuable journal, with some stunning columnists, a serious approach to contemporary Italian politics, and the daring to explore some topics around which the Italian dailies were merely dancing. So I would often send articles to friends who share my interest in Italy (and who read Italian), to colleagues at the two institutions where I teach, and to former diplomatic colleagues who had served in Italy. They were appreciative, and struck by the quality of the journalism.
Now the situation has changed. When I send pieces of special interest to the same people, they usually now tell me that they had already seen it. They have become regular readers of La Voce. This may be a fairly small audience, but it is intense.
You gave us a valuable service from the beginning. Now it is an indispensable part of our daily routines. We are very grateful.
Sincerely,
Stanton Burnett
