Must-Visit Places. With a staggering 68 million tourists visiting Italy each year, it’s one of the most-visited countries globally. Its natural and artistic beauty, coupled with its rich history and architecture, have always captivated visitors, both Italian and foreign. One tourist attraction that has been very successful, receiving a 97.5% positive review rate, is the Galleria Borbonica in Naples.
Tourists have been fascinated by the underground journey through Naples and have praised the staff’s knowledge and courtesy. The Parma Cathedral, also known as the Duomo, received positive comments from 97% of visitors, with some calling it “Italy’s most beautiful cathedral.” The Basilica of San Miniato al Monte in Florence, known for its panoramic view of the city, enchanted tourists from around the world, earning a 97% positive review rate. The monuments in the capital also fared well, with a 95% positive review rate for the Pantheon, praised particularly for its architecture and efficient management, according to several reviews.

The Colosseum left over 93% of visitors positively impressed, with many describing it as not just a must-see monument but also a testament to human ingenuity, engineering prowess, and the indomitable spirit of an empire that once ruled the world.
Disappointing Places. Not all points of interest enjoy the same level of success. The aim of this study is to assess tourist attractions based on their appeal and assist travelers in planning their itineraries.
The most disappointing tourist attraction is Juliet’s House in Verona, with one in two visitors feeling let down. The famous house associated with Shakespeare’s drama disappointed 50% of visitors, who were frustrated by the long queues, often just to take a photo with the famous statue in the courtyard. Nevertheless, the city of Verona itself received very positive reviews.
The most disappointing amusement park, according to tourists, is Fiabilandia in Rimini, which doesn’t seem to fare particularly well with visitors. In fact, 47% of reviewers expressed disappointment, primarily due to the outdated nature of the attractions. Despite the negative comments, several parents who visited the park described it as perfect for spending a great day with family, catering to children of all ages.
