Lara Trump, daughter-in-law of the president, will be the newest host on the Fox News channel. The announcement highlights the strong ties between Trump and the television network, and suggests a beneficial partnership for his second term. Trump has chosen numerous Fox News personalities for his Administration, and Fox News has gained market share over its competitors since the election.
As announced by the broadcaster, the president’s daughter-in-law will host the new show “My View With Lara Trump,” which will air on Saturdays starting Feb. 22 and will deal with interviews and analysis. According to Fox News, the program “will focus on the return of common sense to all corners of American life as the country ushers in a new era of practicality.”
Lara Trump, married to Eric Trump since 2014, has previously worked in the television world. She was a content writer and television producer for CBS’s “Inside Edition” and then starting in March 2021 she worked, for about two years, as an on-air contributor for the network after Trump left office. Lara Trump has also played a key role in conservative politics. She was co-chair of the Republican National Committee for several months last year, overseeing the party’s campaign and fundraising efforts that raised more than $280 million.
What’s more, Lara was involved in Donald Trump’s presidential campaigns in both 2016 and 2020. In 2016 she led the “Trump-Pence Women’s Empowerment Tour” with the goal of attracting the women’s vote. In 2020, she was a senior advisor to Brad Parscale who led digital media for Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and was responsible for the current president’s 2020 re-election campaign.
