On Saturday, Nov. 9 at 5:00 pm at Casa Italiana Zerilli- Marimò, on the occasion of the presentation of Agrigento as the Italian Cultural Capital 2025, one can attend the theatrical performance entitled “The Reawakening of the Gods,” a show written and directed by Marco Savatteri that offers a dreamlike journey into the world and culture of ancient Greek mythology.
The stories told take place in an undefined era that never existed, yet these stories written more than 2,600 years ago have survived to this day. These are stories that encapsulate universal meaning and are therefore immortal. In the play, musical sung and acted in Italian, “the Gods of Olympus awaken and reveal themselves to the eyes of the audience.”
The performance was conceived by the author to be performed in real archaeological sites, ancient theaters, palaces and museums, allowing the audience to experience these places in a new and revealing way. The performance, which has a total duration of forty minutes, will be presented in English.
