Donald Trump called Republican Lawmaker Liz Cheney “a radical war hawk” and suggested that she deserves to face a “firing squad” due to her foreign policy stance during a rally in Arizona alongside former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
“Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, OK? Let’s see how she feels about it. You know, when the guns are trained to her face,” stated Trump, who has previously hinted at using the military against what he calls “radical left lunatics” in the event of electoral unrest.
According to Trump, Cheney is “a very dumb person” who, during her time in House Republican leadership, “always wanted to go to war with people.” He added, “You know, they’re all war hawks when they’re sitting in Washington in a nice building, saying… ‘Let’s send 10,000 troops right into the mouth of the enemy.’”
Cheney, who was ousted from Congress after supporting Trump’s impeachment for his role in the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack, has recently endorsed Kamala Harris in the upcoming election on November 5.
Cheney’s defiance of Trump has garnered attention and support even among progressive circles, who, despite having criticized her father Dick for being a key architect of the Iraq War, have recognized her courage in defending democratic values.
