A suspect accused of killing three family members in Bucks County, Pennsylvania on Saturday was arrested after barricading inside a New Jersey home, according to police.
According to Bucks County District Attorney Jennifer Schorn, Gordon, 26, is accused of killing his stepmother, Karen Gordon, 52, and his 13-year-old sister, Kera, after breaking into their Levittown, Pennsylvania, home. A further victim, Taylor Daniel, 25, the mother of his two children, was also fatally shot in a separate Levittown location.
In a desperate attempt to evade capture, Gordon reportedly carjacked a vehicle in Morristown, Pennsylvania, leading law enforcement on a multi-state pursuit that culminated in Trenton. The residents of the New Jersey home were evacuated safely, as local police, state agencies, and federal law enforcement, including the FBI, coordinated a response.
This chain of events began early Saturday, bringing the local community to a standstill. A St. Patrick’s Day parade was canceled and a shelter-in-place order issued. The suspect’s ties to the Trenton area, where he was primarily staying, played a crucial role in the law enforcement response.
Police have urged anyone with information about Gordon to come forward. The incident has profoundly affected the community, with local officials, including Governor Josh Shapiro and Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, closely monitoring the situation. As the standoff continues, the community anxiously waits for a peaceful resolution to the hostage situation.
