For the second consecutive year Veneto Region was marking its presence in New York thanks to the collaboration between La Casa Italiana Zerilli Marimò and EM Dreams Factory.
Stefano Albertini Mussini, Director of La Casa Zerilli Marimò and Eugenio Magnani, President of EM Dreams Factory were the Masters of Ceremony of the night and took the public (mainly tour operators, travel agents, and media representatives) on a journey of infinite beauty and “bel canto”.
Veneto, the Land of Venice presented on May 23rd : The Arena of Verona.
The world’s reknown amphitheater brought on stage three singers and one pianist to perform some of the best opera arias of the 2019 Season inside the Rosenthal Pavillon at the Kimmel Center of the New York University.
Following last year’s success, it was decided that one more singer was to be brought to the scene. The performers were Sebastian Catana, Bariton, Lana Kos, Sopran, Raffaele Abete, Tenor, Maria Cristina Orsolato, Pianist
This year will be the 97th of the Arena di Verona Opera Festival, with five Operas on stage in a three months span, commencing June 21st until September 7th, 2019.
The Operas are: La Traviata, Aida, Carmen, Il Trovatore, Tosca.
Before the performance, Veneto Region introduced, through Claudio De Donatis, Director of the Tourism Department, the salutations from the President of the Region Luca Zaia and announced the news about the upcoming season on different segments of the territory: art, mountain, sea, cultural events, sports, etc.
Two Tourist Operators from Veneto explored more specific areas and sectors like Golf and weddings. Francesco Cordioli from “Love Me in Veneto” introduced Weddings and Romantic Tours in Veneto. Laura Bortolato from “Golf in Veneto” introduced the various possibilities to play this sport in different areas of the region. Gianfranco De Cesaris, General Manager of Fondazione Arena di Verona, talked about the Historic Foundation that aims to preserve one of the most ancient opera theater still alive in the world.
The night ended with some food specialties from the Region and wine to pair.
