A young male model known for his appearances in Vogue Italia and campaigns with major brands like Calvin Klein was arrested Monday, suspected of fatally stabbing a father in the Bronx over the weekend, according to police reports.
Dynus Saxon, 20, from Manhattan, faces multiple charges, including second-degree murder and manslaughter, for allegedly killing Kadeem Grant, a 35-year-old father of one. The NYPD reported finding Grant’s body with multiple stab wounds near the entrance of an apartment building on Grand Concourse at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Sunday.
Police discovered a knife close to Grant’s body, with a trail of blood leading down the steps of the building in the Mott Haven neighborhood. Witnesses stated that the violent encounter unfolded abruptly, with no apparent exchange of words.
Saxon was detained within the 40th precinct on Monday and was later sent to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. As of Tuesday evening, he reportedly remained under medical observation, law enforcement sources confirmed.
Saxon, the accused, had built a promising career as a model, featuring in campaigns for brands like JD Sports, Calvin Klein, and Levi’s, and even walking the red carpet at premieres for films such as “Deadpool & Wolverine” and “The Batman,” according to his Instagram.
Saxon’s mother, speaking to the New York Daily News, contested the accusations, describing her son as someone incapable of violence. “There’s more to this than people think,” she said. “Dynus didn’t just decide to kill someone.” She also stated that her son has no recollection of the incident, claiming that he “does not remember what happened.”
The investigation remains active as authorities continue to look into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident. Grant leaves behind a young daughter.
