A 57-year-old woman was killed on Monday night after being shot in the face inside a lower Manhattan condo complex, according to police and sources.
According to law enforcement, Ying Zhu Liu was discovered dead just after 11 p.m. inside the Eighth Floor Hallway of the high-end Two Bridges building, which is situated at 44 Market St.
Police reported that two men had first followed Liu’s husband into the elevator and attempted to rob his when they got to the eighth floor. Liu entered the corridor to step in, and according to the police, one of the suspects drew a revolver and shot her in the face. The murderers are said to have subsequently taken Liu’s husband’s phone and fled.
One of the suspects was reportedly wearing a black and red hooded jacket, white sneakers, dark pants with a white stripe down the leg and a black ski mask. The other man was wearing a black hooded coat, a black ski mask, black pants and black and white sneakers.
Police said that after the deadly gunshot, two suspects left the building. As of Tuesday morning, both remained at large.
