Two people were killed and four others were injured as gunfire broke out in New York City on Saturday night.
According to police, the spate of violence started in East Flatbush at 5:30 p.m. when a 15-year-old was shot in the left arm outside a house. In a separate incident, another adolescent was wounded in the left elbow at the intersection of West 135th Street and Lenox Avenue in Harlem shortly before 7:30 p.m. The victim, a 19-year-old, is in stable condition, and a male person of interest has been placed under arrest.
In Brownsville, a 58-year-old man was shot in the left ankle at the Marcus Garvey Houses shortly before 8:45 p.m., as reported by the NYPD. Both victims were transported to local hospitals and are in stable condition.
The most serious, a fatal incident, occurred at 10:30 p.m. in South Richmond Hill, Queens. Police discovered a 52-year-old woman with a gunshot wound at a residence near 95th Street and 11th Avenue, alongside a 27-year-old man who had multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. Additionally, a 33-year-old man was found a mile away with a gunshot wound to the head and a firearm beside him. The woman was taken to the hospital in stable condition, but both men were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities could not immediately confirm if the 33-year-old man was the shooter.
All four incidents are currently under investigation.
