The Photoville Festival is back and will open on Saturday, June 4th from 1-10PM at Brooklyn Bridge Park, Pier 1. The festival will run from June 4th -26th this year. It is a free visual storytelling event that incorporates festival fun into one jam-packed day in Brooklyn Bridge Park, complete with host artist-led walking tours, workshops, and opportunities for educators and students to connect with the Festival’s featured visual storytellers.
There will be over 30 exhibitions and free public programming from Leica Camera, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, International Center of Photography, Penumbra, and Creatively Wild Art Studio, with food and beverage vendors from Smorgasburg. There will also be an interactive photo booth by Tiffany Smith, a tabletop styling workshop with Robin Zachary, and exhibition walking tours led by Photoville’s founders and Jeffrey Henson Scales.
The evening will round out with a musical performance presented by Haiti Cultural Exchange, tunes from DJ Likwuid, and a special evening program from Black Shutter Photography featuring Idris Solomon in discussion with all-star photographers Melissa Alexander, Laylah Amatullah Barrayn, Keith Major, and Jeffrey Henson Scales.
Photoville has collaborated with an outstanding group of artists and programming partners to curate and present over 60 outdoor exhibitions in 20 locations across all five boroughs.
