Fans are so used to seeing the handsome and glamorous movie star on the screen, they don’t imagine him as a hard-nosed and successful businessman. But that’s exactly what Brad Pitt is.
With the recent lucrative sale of 60% of his production company, Plan B Entertainment, worth $300 million to French group Mediawan, Pitt is considering taking a step back from it all.
“Brad has decided that he wants to live a peaceful life going forward and is deciding what ‘semi-retirement’ looks like for him,” a source told Page Six.
But Pitt fans, fear not: you’ll most likely still see him on the screen. “One thing he’s decided is that he will likely continue acting,” the source revealed; he just plans to cut back on his other business ventures.
He invests most of his wealth in real estate and charitable endeavors, but not only that. In addition to the film production company, Pitt launched a new genderless skin-care line, Le Domaine, late last year. His many interests include architecture and he bought Le Chateau Miraval along with some vineyards, with Angelina Jolie. He likes to make furniture as well as wine. If he decides to go into semi-retirement, he will certainly have plenty to keep him occupied. However, a second source told Page Six that “he is absolutely committed to his film career…He is not leaving Hollywood.”
Still another insider alleged a slightly different narrative for Pitt, saying instead, “He is considering leaving Hollywood and moving to France and doing his vineyard thing, and art and making furniture. “
The one thing all the sources agree on is that, “He just wants to live in peace.” How Brad will find the peace he is looking for remains slightly unclear, but apparently, change is coming.
While the 59-year-old has several projects in the works as a producer, his starring in an unnamed Formula 1 film project is on the horizon.
