A minimalistic, intimate stage at the Gene Frankel Theater. Two powerhouse actors gravitating into the deep space of this suspended and evocative play, colliding and landing on planets of opposites and attractions, will and destiny, love and dissolution, past & future mixed up in non-linear present moments.
Nick Payne’s writing progresses in never-ending circles that constantly bring the two characters, Marianne and Roland, closely distant and distantly close as their romance unfolds through an arc of time that is all emotional and psychological.

Italian actress Francesca Ravera & Michael Chinworth bring freshness, buoyant youth and new life to the British play displaying relatable chemistry and a genuineness in acting that flows nicely and agilely, bringing levity to the strongly intellectual material. Even when the protagonists are confronted with existential and cosmological dilemmas or they need to go deep into the depths of the paradoxes of life and death, conscious & unconscious, you never lose a connection to them.
Italian actress Francesca Ravera has ‘constellations’ in her eyes, that cut through the darkness with all of their powerful intensity, you can’t miss them, you won’t forget them. The beauty and the beasts of the storyline are all concentrated in her emotional shifts and in the caretaking way with which Michael Chinworth is able and capable to navigate those, embracing Marianne and their destiny together to the most extreme measures and consequences.
This rendition of ‘Constellations’ by director Kim T. Sharp is a playful and emotional tour de force that challenges both the actors and the audience expanding the horizons of what is real and what is possible.
Go see it if you are thirsty with wonder.
