Ask not what Dante did for his times, ask what his times did for him. Cecily Cai, a graduate student in comparative literature at Harvard, interviews Lino Pertile on the recent book that he presented at the De Bosis Colloquium in Italian Studies, Dante in Context, edited with Zygmunt Baranski and published by Cambridge University Press. Professor Pertile, who teaches at Harvard, is a renowned Dante scholar and former director of Villa I Tatti in Florence.
