John Gotti Jr.’s wife and daughter have turned down a plea deal that resulted from a brawl that they were involved in on February 9.
Gianna Gotti and Kimberly Gotti were both offered to plead guilty to the top charge of third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, in exchange for 12 weeks of anger management and a stay away order of protection, a spokesman for Nassau District Attorney Anne Donnelly’s office said Thursday.
The two became entangled in a violent altercation when attending a basketball game at the Locust Valley High School when they were asked to stop yelling at teens who were cheering for the rival team. In response, they hit and pulled off the wig of the woman who had made the request.
Gotti, the reputed former boss of the Gambino crime family, turned down the deal and stated his intention of fighting the charge, alleging that the woman threw the first punch.
Gotti Jr. told the outlet that Etienne, the other party involved, was “the aggressor,” adding, “She wasn’t a victim. We would not be here if we were to counter-press charges. What happens is simply this: She chose a fight. She chose a fight with the wrong woman. She ended up with a bad decision. And then she decided to press charges. We don’t press charges.”
