From Dec. 13 to March 9, the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan will host the exhibition “Tim Burton’s Labyrinth” celebrating the film world and the most famous characters of the acclaimed U.S. director, featured in the films Beetlejuice (1988), Batman (1989), The Corpse Bride (2005), Edward Scissorhands (1990), The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), Alice in Wonderland (2010) and the recent Netflix TV series Wednesday, through his drawings and sketches.

More than 150 works created by the visionary artist will be on view, including paintings, original sketches, 55 animated artworks, 21 life-size figures from film sets, and special and videomapping effects created over a career spanning more than 40 years. Tim Burton is not only a great director and screenwriter but also a multifaceted and multidisciplinary artist who has devoted himself to illustration, painting, and photography.

“Tim Burton’s Labyrinth is the transposition of his creative mind into a physical space,” explained Alvaro Molina, creative coordinator of Tim Burton’s Labyrinth. ”The director collaborated side by side with us to create an exciting and surprising journey.”
The exhibition route was designed by the curators together with Burton himself, as a kind of labyrinth. By activating a button, visitors will choose their personalized path from more than three hundred directions through which they can explore and admire the exhibition.

Tim Burton’s Labyrinth is co-produced with Fabbrica del Vapore, promoted by the City of Milan and presented in Italy by Alveare Produzioni, LETSGO Company in collaboration with Tim Burton himself. The organizers are predicting that it will be a great success, as more than 50 thousand tickets have already been sold in pre-sale.
