A woman was found dead on Monday inside a luxury spa and resort in the Hamptons, prompting an investigation by Suffolk County police. The unidentified victim’s body was discovered around 12:30 p.m. by a staff member in a guest room at the Shou Sugi Ban House, located in Water Mill.
Police classified the case as a “suspicious death” and determined that the woman was “a victim of violence.” However, details regarding her injuries or the cause of death have not been released, as the county medical examiner is set to conduct an autopsy.
The Shou Sugi Ban House features 13 private guest studios within a five-acre gated compound. Each 400-square-foot studio includes amenities such as a king or queen-sized bed, a luxurious soaking tub, a modern gas fireplace, and private garden patios. The average nightly rate for the studios is approximately $1,000, with a “signature romance package” available for $1,250.
