While the whole world is focused on the attack in Pennsylvania against Donald Trump, a message of solidarity regarding the incident arrives from Italy. In Naples, in via San Gregorio Armeno, the street famous for its craftsmen who fashion Christmas Nativity scenes, artist “Marco Ferrigno” has created the first figure in the world that alludes to the attack.
A bloody Donald Trump who raises his fist and the Secret Service agents around him have become part of a Nativity scene.
After its creation, the master craftsman posted images of his sculpture online declaring, “I don’t like this climate at all. Now common sense is no longer able to govern the world. Tonight’s inconceivable and anachronistic attack, which endangers our true and only wealth, democracy, is a cowardly and deplorable gesture. Solidarity with Donald.”
Speaking from his workshop to explain how the work came about, Maestro Ferrigno said: “This figurine tells of a very serious event that reminded me of the attack on former President Silvio Berlusconi. This worried me because if Donald Trump is not free to express his thoughts, it means that democracy is in serious danger for everyone.”
