Breaking News…
President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19, marking the third time he has contracted the virus. The news was announced during the UnidosUS annual conference in Las Vegas, where President Biden was scheduled to speak but was unable to attend due to his diagnosis.
The White House has confirmed the positive test result and has stated that President Biden is experiencing mild symptoms. This development comes amidst a busy schedule for the President, following recent public engagements and discussions about his health. President Biden had previously tested positive for COVID-19 in 2022, and this current diagnosis underscores the persistent challenges the virus poses even as vaccinations and treatments have become widely available.
The President is returning to his home in Delaware to isolate and is expected to follow all necessary health protocols to ensure the safety of those around him.
Just today the President told BET News in an interview set to air tonight that he would consider dropping out of the presidential race if a doctor advised him to. However, that was just a hypothetical situation that he mentioned. As far as we know, he has no intention of withdrawing and he has made his position on the issue amply clear.
“Quite frankly, the only thing age brings is a little bit of wisdom,” Biden said. “And I think I’ve demonstrated that I know how to get things done for the country.” He added that “there’s more to do” and that he’s “reluctant to walk away from that.”
Biden’s doctor said in February that the 81-year-old president is “fit for duty” and “fully executes all of his responsibilities without any exemptions or accommodations.”
The President’s age has become a point of concern for Democrats, and many have asked him to drop out of the race, fearing that if he stays, former President Donald Trump will win in the fall.
