A shooting during a Juneteenth celebration in Texas on Saturday night left two people dead and at least six others injured, including two children, according to authorities.
Shortly after midnight, gunshots broke out at Round Rock, Texas’s Old Settler’s Park. According to Austin-Travis County EMS, two children and four adults were taken to nearby hospitals with “potentially serious injuries.”
People gathered in the 640-acre park outside Austin for a Juneteenth BBQ, followed by a festival and entertainment. The facility was set to host four musical acts, including rapper Paul Wall and his band.
“Round Rock, we are praying for everybody,” Wall said in a post on X.
The investigation is ongoing and as of Sunday morning no suspects have been taken into custody.
