The pressure of fighting multiple legal cases must be getting to the self-declared “stable genius”, Donald Trump as his gaffes multiply and become ever more bizarre—all while mocking his rival, President Joe Biden, for his senility.
In his speech at a rally in New Hampshire on Saturday, he made a number of blunders of the kind that he usually mocks Biden for, according to various news sources. These errors, that he frequently makes but dismisses–and more worryingly, his cult followers believe are deliberate and strategic– undermine his attempt to mock President Joe Biden’s mental fitness and raise questions about his own cognitive abilities that seem to be declining sharply as he juggles the many court appearances with his campaign rallies.
During his speech in New Hampshire, the former president became confused about who the current president is and suggested that the Prime Minister of Hungary had called on Barack Obama to resign from office so he could be replaced by Trump.
Trump was delivering the by-now-all-too-familiar part of his speech where he boasts about his great relationship with the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, when he made the slip-up.
In Trump’s rambling and repetitive homage to the dictator, “The head of Hungary, a very tough, strong guy, Viktor Orbán… They interviewed him two weeks ago, and they asked, ‘What would you advise President Obama?’ He said it’s very simple; he should immediately resign, and they should replace him with President Trump.”
During the same speech, Trump delivered a bizarre rant suggesting he was the first person to notice ‘us’ and ‘U.S.’ were similar and that no one would give him credit for that ‘genius’ discovery.
His gaffes are mounting with the passing time. Showing his ignorance of geography and the location of the countries that any president has to deal with, on multiple occasions Trump has said Hungary borders Russia.
During another speech, Trump claimed President Biden was leading the country into World War Two shortly after accusing Biden of suffering from cognitive decline. Then Trump appeared very confused when he suggested he was leading Barack Obama in the polls. Trump also confused Jeb and George Bush when he suggested Jeb Bush deployed troops to the Middle East.
On multiple occasions, Trump has stated that the purchase of bread requires photo identification, a claim that is so bizarre that it defies comprehension.
Despite the video showing Trump delivering these gaffes in the clearest and manner, his supporters claim that these blunders are not gaffes at all, but deliberate trolls against his rivals.
