According to a recent report, Gigi Hadid faced an arrest for marijuana possession during her vacation on the Cayman Islands last week.
Upon arriving on the island via a private plane with a friend, customs officials conducted a search of their luggage and discovered “ganja and utensils used for the consumption of ganja” in their possession, as reported by the local outlet Cayman Marl Road. Consequently, both the supermodel and her friend were arrested under suspicion of importing ganja and utensils associated with its consumption. Subsequently, they were taken to the Prisoner Detention Center but were later released on bail.
During a court appearance on July 12, Gigi Hadid and her friend pleaded guilty to the charges and were issued a fine of $1,000. Fortunately, they are not facing any further charges.
Gigi’s representative clarified the situation, stating that the marijuana was legally obtained in NYC with a medical license, and it has been legal for medical use on Grand Cayman since 2017. The incident did not tarnish her record, and she continued to enjoy the rest of her time on the island.
Despite the ordeal, Gigi Hadid appears to have moved on unscathed, sharing various photos from her vacation on social media platforms.
