Kevin Costner is set to pay his estranged wife a lot more than he intended: a judge tentatively ruled the actor will pay over $129,000 a month to her on Tuesday.
According to new legal documents, obtained by TMZ, the judge in their divorce case says Costner must pay Christine Baumgartner $129,755 per month in child support. Though the ruling is subject to another upcoming hearing, the decision rarely changes in these instances.
Baumgartner had initially requested $248,000, a figure Costner’s accountant blasted, saying that more than $100,000 of it was for cosmetic procedures.
Costner initially offered Christine $51,940, in addition to him paying all the children’s expenses, but she said the offer was “completely inappropriate.”
According to the documents, the ex-couple will each be responsible for 50% of their kids’ healthcare expenses, plus their extracurricular activities and private school tuition.
Costner is also being compelled to advance Baumgartner $200,000 for attorney’s fees and another $100,000 in forensic costs.
Payments are due on the first of every month, with Costner set to be credited for payments made since the start of July.
Of course, this is not the only celebrity spat dominating headlines: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are still fuming over their winery.
