As some of the world’s top policymakers are in Davos to discuss the most pressing economic issues of our age, they are reportedly bringing their escorts with them. The global elite are driving a boom in prostitution in the Swiss resort town, which is hosting the yearly edition of the World Economic Forum from Monday through Friday, .
It is no coincidence. Every year, the demand for sex services soars at the gathering of corporate titans and international leaders who fly in from all around to rub elbows with one another.
During the five-day conference, escorts are booked into the same hotels as powerful CEOs and their staff. Despite prostitution being allowed in Switzerland, one sex worker by the name of Liana said that she dresses in professional clothing so that she blends in with the executives – as reported by The Sun.
A Times’ investigation in 2020 discovered that at least 100 prostitutes go to Davos for the meeting. Prices range from about 700 euros per hour up to 3000 euros for the whole night.
The manager of one escort service in Aargau, which is 100 miles from Davos, reports that she has already gotten 25 enquiries and 11 appointments, and she anticipates receiving many more this week. While she declined to say who her important clients are, she cautioned: ‘Believe me, you don’t want to go into litigation with them.’
