A protest in Times Square saw several hundred people take to the streets wrapped in yellow and blue flags Saturday afternoon. “Just peace is Ukraine winning,” ‘Now more than ever your voice matters, protect your children from dictatorships,’ were the slogans written on signs. The event was documented on X by Ukrainian-American journalist Oliya Scootercaster and the videos belong to FreedomNewsTV.
At one of New York’s most iconic sites, in addition to commemorating the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, many people condemned President Donald Trump’s reaction during disastrous talks with Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on Friday afternoon. The Ukrainian leader was in Washington DC to sign the agreement on the management of rare earths, but in the Oval Office, the situation escalated: Zelensky and his team were kicked out by Trump’s staff canceling press conference and any possibility of finding common ground.
Across the United States, various groups organized to demonstrate in support of Ukraine and condemn Trump’s accusations. In Vermont, Vice President JD Vance, who was supposed to spend four days at a ski resort, was forced to change plans after being greeted with banners inviting him to go skiing in Russia. In Los Angeles, protesters gathered in front of a SpaceX plant–a company owned by Elon Musk, now head of the Department of Government Efficiency–and in Boston an “emergency demonstration” for “a just peace” was held at Boston Common.
