In connection with the MAECI Diplomacy Festival, the exhibition offers an overview of nineteenth-twentieth century Italian immigration, using new expressive methods such as the graphic novel.
The project, curated by Loredana Rea and coordinated by Patrizio Di Sciullo and Elisa Ottaviani with the contribution of Stefania Di Marco, features works by several emerging artists. They worked on period materials (photographs, books, films, documentaries) in order to tell the story of emigration through the eyes of today. The works were created on paper supports using different techniques, ranging from illustration to engraving.
