Another year of the New York International Auto Show is highlighting the hottest trends in automobiles in 2024 for car enthusiasts and those in the market for luxury vehicles.
The event kicked off on Friday at the Javits center on Manhattan’s West Side.
For 124 years, the show has offered a platform for millions to see a glimpse into the future of automobiles. It runs through April 7, with events from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on most days.
Eddie Gazzillo, Auto Show Chief Operating Officer, says they’re no place more equipped for someone to search for their next car.
“Honda to Ford, and just try every different vehicle out,” he said.
Kia has its newest minivan on display that appears to be more of an SUV, Chevy is showing off its newest Corvette, and Genesis is attracting much attention with its world debut of its Neolun model.
Cars range widely in prices, with more practical ones starting at $30,000, and others like the Rimac Nevera costing $2.4 million.
Downstairs at the ongoing event, participants are even able to take some electric cars for a test drive, including the Cadillac Lyric. The price of the car starts at about $60,000 and goes from 0 to 60 mph in less than five seconds.
Dozens of manufacturers are on hand, along with 10 exhibits, including cars owned by celebrities like Elvis and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. There are also four test tracks available for joy rides.
Though the capacity of the car show is limited. “They’ll be limited to 150 vehicles,” said Aleksey Katkov, a sales consultant with Manhattan Motorcars.
Tickets are still on sale for those interested in attending, and range from $22 to $60 for adults and $8 for children.
