NYC Ferry partnered with Warner Music Group to honor Madonna returning to New York for her tour. They set up a series of ferry fun activities from December 11 to 17 and even renamed the South Brooklyn Route as “The Madonna Celebration Route”. Each landing stop was given a title of her songs, like: “Corlears Hook” is “Express Yourself Hook”; “Wall Street/Pier 11” is “Material Girl Pier”; “Strike a Pose Park” instead of “Sunset Park/Brooklyn Army Terminal”.
NYC Ferry arranges an exclusive onboard party today, Tuesday, December 12. “Sail Into The Groove for Madonna” will see music, official Madonna freebies, raffles for Madonna prizes, and the chance to win a free pair of tickets to an upcoming show at Madison Square Garden.
To board, simply purchase the ferry tickets via the NYC Ferry app or the ticket vending machine at each landing.

For “The Celebration Tour”—also being called “the greatest hits” tour since she celebrates her forty-year-long career singing her most famous songs—she will grace the stage of the Barclays Center on December 13, 14, and 16–those being the first dates of the Northern American leg. Then she will be coming back in January on the 22, 23, and 29 at Madison Square Garden.
Four decades later, Madonna is returning to the city that launched her career and made her the “Queen of Pop”, a global icon. She first moved to New York from Bay City, Michigan, when she was 20 in 1978 with just $35 in her pocket. She went against her father, who wanted her to pursue an academic career. But she was destined to strut the big stages around the world. She had a life of hardship in the “City of Dreams” until Everybody—her first demo—was launched in 1982.
