A man died after jumping 750 feet from the top of a five-star Manhattan hotel on Thursday night, according to authorities
Shortly after 9 p.m., the individual is believed to have jumped from the top of the opulent Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Columbus Circle. According to police sources, the individual – who does not appear to have been a guest or resident of the building – is thought to have used a service elevator to reach the hotel’s top.
On the way down, he crashed into the glass awning of the hotel, and his body split in two. At the scene, the unnamed male was pronounced deceased
The hotel is located on the top 19 stories of the 55-story Deutsche Bank Center skyscraper, which also houses a number of the most prestigious celebrities in Hollywood.
