A 54-year-old finance executive from New York was charged on Thursday with raping a 14-year-old girl he had met online and giving her narcotics until she overdosed.
According to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, Michael Olson was indicted on 17 counts for the alleged months-long abuse that was discovered May 26 after paramedics were called to a Manhattan hotel and discovered him and the girl, who had taken a cocktail of ketamine, cocaine, and Xanax.
The girl was taken to a hospital right after and lived, whereas Mr. Olson was arrested and later freed after paying a $1 million bail. Despite the fact that he was being electronically watched, the suspect persisted in trying to contact young females while he was out on bond.
Prosecutors claimed that, in addition to the young teen he was discovered with, Mr. Olson reportedly preyed on a number of vulnerable girls, specifically targeting Asian girls who shared self-harm photographs or expressed financial difficulties on social media.

Olson began harassing the 14-year-old in December 2022 after seeing her Instagram page and replying to a post she had made about expensive apparel. Then, according to reports, he reportedly sent her a gift card and started paying her to spend time with him. He repeatedly assaulted the young girl over the course of the following six months, paying her $700 per week in exchange for sex in hotels in both Queens and Manhattan, according to the office.
Olson also pretended that the youngster was his daughter when he bought her plane passes using her first name with his last name, taking her to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Miami.
On the iPad that was recovered from his Manhattan hotel room, the alleged pedophile also stored a collection of naked pictures of children and young girls engaging in sex acts.
He was charged with one count of criminal sale of a controlled substance to a child, five counts of second-degree rape, seven counts of aggravated patronizing of a minor for prostitution in the second degree, two counts of criminal sexual act in the second degree, one count of facilitating a sex offense with a controlled substance, and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. He is anticipated to face more charges, prosector John Fuller said at a hearing.
