Over the weekend, longtime partners Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn were reported to have broken up in a matter that was not “dramatic.”For the first time since the split, Swift was seen roaming around on the streets of New York City.
The 12-time Grammy winner–currently on her blockbuster “Eras Tour”–was spotted out just one day after news of her breakup sent shockwaves online–especially among her adoring fans, the “swifties.”.
She was seen stepping out with friend and musician Jack Antonoff, who has worked with her on her most recently released album. The pair were joined by his fiancee Margaret Qualley for dinner at Via Carota restaurant in downtown Manhattan.
Interestingly enough, the restaurant happens to be blocks away from Cornelia Street (where Swift rented a home), which was the inspiration for one of her songs on the Lover album, thought to be about Joe.
Swift kept her outfit casual with bling: a black off-the-shoulder top and high-waisted jeans that had a rhinestone butterfly cutout.
Her fans, however, aren’t doing as well. Many commented (perhaps half-jokingly) that they refused to believe the couple of six years were officially over, and believed that the report wasn’t real. Swift and Alywn occupied rarified air in celebrity couple lore, with their union said to be the paragon of true famous romance–although the patron saints of that ideal will always be Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively.
Nevertheless, Swift is single…for now. And her music may take an interesting turn as a result.
