The wait is over: starting Tuesday, New Yorkers and tourists will be able to climb to the top of the Statue of Liberty to admire the stunning views of Lower Manhattan and enjoy a unique experience at the place that has become a quintessential symbol of the “American dream.”
National Park Services has begun selling tickets to climb to the 146-year-old Lady Liberty’s crown, following a long two-year hiatus caused by the pandemic.
The climb consists of 162 steps (no elevator) and no bags are allowed. Each entrance ticket to the crown also includes boat transportation from Manhattan (Battery Park) or New Jersey (Liberty State Park), with further access to the pedestal and museums at Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.
Tickets, which are available here in a limited number, cost $24.30 for those aged 13 to 61. Discounts are available for those over-62 ($18.30) and children aged 4 to 12 ($12.30). Infants get in free, accompanied by an adult.
