By now, we’ve all probably heard that the US lags about 10 to 14 days behind Italy in experiencing the full effects, societal and individual, of the Coronavirus epidemic. In the course of the last two weeks, Italians have learned a lot about the COV-19 and how to face it. In many cases they have had a change in attitude about what it is, what to feel about it, and the level of fear that is justified. In this video we see Italian men and women who are addressing the person they were at the start of the epidemic. One woman tells us that 10 days ago she made fun of those who were worried, but now she’s among them.
Another looks back to 10 days ago when she was still going to work and attending meetings, going to the gym and the hairdresser. “Normal life” is being redefined and people are changing in ways that they had never thought possible. Their advice to us is that we can remain light in spirit, but not in our actions. Take it seriously, follow all precautions, but don’t let it get you down. At first you feel you’re in a dark tunnel, but then you realize that you’re not alone. We’re all in this together and life will continue afterwards.
