White Cube returns to South Florida to reopen its West Palm Beach gallery for a third year, and to participate in the 2022 edition of Art Basel Miami Beach.
The gallery, located at 2512 Florida Avenue, yesterday hosted the preview of leading Chinese artist Liu Wei’s new exhibition. Today the show will open to the public. This is the first in a series of exhibitions at the gallery, a group show featuring Darren Almond, Isamu Noguchi and Virginia Overton, will follow.
At Art Basel, which will open to the public on December 1, White Cube will be present at stand E7 and will exhibit works by over 35 international artists. Highlights from the presentation include Robert Irwin’s In the Cool, Cool, Cool of the Evening (2021); and an early sculpture by Theaster Gates titled Throne.
Jeff Koons’ monumental sculpture Bowl with Eggs (Yellow) (1994-2009), from his acclaimed “Celebration’”series, will also feature in the display as part of White Cube’s ‘Salon’ secondary market programme, which showcases outstanding examples of post-war and contemporary art.
