Le nomination sono state annunciate all’alba di Los Angeles da Riz Ahmed, che ha vinto un Oscar lo scorso anno per il miglior live-action short e Allison Williams che interpreta il successo horror “M3GAN”.
Come previsto “Everything Everywhere All at Once” ha fatto man bassa con 11 nominations, seguito da “The Banshees of Inisherin” e “All Quiet on the Western Front” con 8 ciascuno. Cate Blanchett con “Tar” e Michelle Yeoh con “Everything Everywhere all at once” insieme ad altre splendide attrici si contenderanno la statuetta per la migliore interpretazione. La contesa delle donne sarà più accesa e difficile qest’anno di quella fra gli uomini perché molti sono stati i ruoli da leading lady belli e impegnativi. Interessante notare che nessuna donna invece è stata nominata nella categoria di miglior regista dopo due anni in cui l’Oscar è stato vinto proprio da donne, Chloé Zhao nel 2021 per “Nomadland” e Jane Campion l’anno scorso per “Power of the Dog.” Quest’anno Sarah Polley di “Women Talking”, Gina Prince-Bythewood di “The Woman King”, Maria Schrader di “She Said”, e Charlotte Wells di “Aftersun” erano in ballo per vincere una nomination, I blockbusters hanno avuto il loro riconoscimento in un anno in cui Hollywood fatica a riprendersi dalla pandemia e i film d’azione riscuotono successo, vitale per la sopravvivenza, al botteghino: “Avatar” e “Top Gun the Maverick” che hanno incassato nel mondo più di 3 miliardi e mezzo di dollari sono stati inclusi nella categoria dei migliori film. Una categoria che dal 2009, proprio per aiutare gli Oscar, è stata ampliata dall’Academy a 10 nominations dalle 5 ordinarie. Ecco come, accanto a film applauditi dai critici e i festival di tutto il mondo, ma che hanno incassato poco, quali “Tar” che ha fatto solo 6 milioni di dollari, “Triangle of Sadness” o “Women Talking”,sono apparsi dei big budget movies.
Sul fronte italiano Aldo Signoretti per la quarta volta si è aggiudicato la nomination per il migliore make up, dopo averla conquistata per “Moulin Rouge”, “Apocalypto”, “Il Divo”, quest’anno è stato nominato per “Elvis”. “Le Pupille”, di Alice Rohrwacher, è entrato nella cinquina degli shorts live action.
