Aeroporti di Roma and the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) opened a new bridge of contact between the United States and Italy. With the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, the neo-partners have launched a travel program to visit Rome during the Year of Italian Roots in the World and the upcoming Jubilee 2025. The only requirement: is to be a member of NIAF.
“Italy and the USA have never been so close: with 12 daily departures to New York, Rome Fiumicino Airport is now the 3rd hub in Europe for several connections to the Big Apple, after London and Paris,” CEO of Aeroporti di Roma Marco Troncone said. “Being able to offer new opportunities and improve the travel experience for NIAF members will allow us to strengthen our focus on the North American market.”

NIAF President Robert Allegrini agrees: “This is a significant step in enhancing our members’ connection to Italy, whether they are exploring their Italian heritage or simply experiencing the beauty of Italy for the first time.”
At the top of the Memorandum’s list of goals are: facilitated flight booking through ADR’s flight platform “FlyandvisitRome.com” at more affordable prices; the ability to skip the line at security checkpoints with the QPass service by booking an appointment; baggage check-in from Termini station; and the assured welcome upon arrival at Fiumicino.
After the pandemic, which forced the world to grind to a halt, Aeroporti di Roma resumed its growth and became an industry leader, earning the title of “Best Airport in Europe” for the seventh year in a row. Yesterday, CEO Marco Troncone spoke on innovation and sustainability at the UN Summit of the Future at the Sustainable Finance event to point the way to new horizons.
