Popular actor Keanu Reeves, best known for his roles in The Matrix and John Wick, has officially made his debut in auto racing. In recent days, he participated in the Toyota GR Cup on the legendary Indianapolis circuit in Indiana, though without achieving significant placements.
The 60-year-old managed to climb from 31st to 25th place out of 35 participants, despite a few twists and turns. About half an hour into the race, Reeves lost control of his car, number 92, named “BRZRKR” in tribute to his graphic novel The Book of Elsewhere. The incident occurred exiting Turn 9, where his vehicle went off the track, sliding onto the grass without serious consequences. Fortunately, Reeves avoided collisions and quickly re-entered the race, signaling that he was uninjured. The actor handled the situation with the same calm demeanor that has made him famous in his film roles, showing that determination and passion know no boundaries, whether in cinema or racing.
This wasn’t Reeves’ first experience in the world of racing. In 2009, he participated in the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, California, in the celebrity race, where he finished in first place. His passion for motorsports has also led him to attend major sporting events like MotoGP and Formula 1.
The mishap during the race doesn’t seem to have dampened his enthusiasm. Reeves will compete in a second race next Sunday, determined to improve his performance.
Reeves joins the list of Hollywood stars who have ventured into auto racing, such as Patrick Dempsey and Brad Pitt. His participation in the Toyota GR Cup once again highlights his versatility and passion for challenges, both on and off the screen.
