Rachel Dallas has gone viral on her TikTok @racheldallask for sharing glimpses of her life living above a mall in Miami, Florida.
A few days after moving into her apartment, Rachel discovered that she had direct access to the mall below her after exploring her building. She found the secret gateway after going through a mysterious door in the lobby, which led her through a hallway to another door, where she could hear music playing from the other side. Realizing the door was unlocked, she opened it and entered an empty mall.
Although she already knew that the mall was close to her apartment, she had no idea that she would have such access to the shopping center, and 24/7 at that!
In one of her videos, the caption read “running down to Lululemon whenever I want is definitely dangerous for me,” while in another she wrote that Zara basically serves as her “extended closet.”
A recent viral video she shared shows her exploring the empty mall by herself at 2 a.m., showing the holiday decor around the mall with Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” playing over the video– setting the seasonal mood that malls use to draw us–and our wallets–in.
Dallas noted in her videos that the escalators in the mall still function when it’s closed, while the front entrance and the stores remain locked, meaning she can do no more than late-night window shopping.
Many people have joked on the posts, commenting how they would take advantage of the situation.
”The way I’d be eating my midnight snack in the food court like it was my mansion!” one user wrote.
Another added: “I would just wake up at 7 am when workers start to appear and tell everybody ‘good morning’ while wearing pajamas and holding a cup of coffee like I own the place.”
Other TikTok users joked about how this living situation would not be good for their pockets. “That would be so toxic for my impulsive spending,” a user commented.
Whether it’s financially sustainable or not, for now Rachel has unimpeded access to a commercial holy grail- at least until the mall finds out what she is up to!
