Bruce Jenner was a record-breaking decathlete who won the Olympic gold medal in 1976 with a world record of 8,618 points. He also won two AAU titles, a PanAm championship, and set another world record in 1975. Other awards, such as the AP Athlete of the Year, the Sullivan Award, and induction into the National Track and Field Hall of Fame and the Olympic Hall of Fame leave no doubt as to his credentials as an athlete.
Jenner’s achievements in sports have been overshadowed by his much-publicized gender reassignment when he became Caitlyn Jenner, one of the most famous transgender people in the world.
Now Bruce/Caitlyn says trans women aren’t “real women.”
In a recent interview with John Cleese on the U.K. TV show The Dinosaur Hour, Jenner also claimed President Joe Biden is trying to ruin women’s sports by allowing trans women to compete with “real women,” and condemned what she considers “woke” attitudes on the subject.
“I see these ‘trans women are real women,’” she said mockingly. “No, you’re not. OK, that’s the bottom line.” Jenner, who came out as trans in 2015, said she lives her life as a woman, has had all her gender markers changed on her identification documents, and uses women’s public restrooms, but she considers herself “a trans person,” not a woman. According to Jenner, “the woke movement has gone too far.”
She talked about her opposition to trans women’s participation in women’s sports. She founded the Fairness First PAC to take up this cause and has become friends with Riley Gaines, a former college swimmer who has spoken out against trans inclusion after competing against trans woman Lia Thomas.
The Biden administration has proposed a rule that would term categorical bans on trans inclusion in school sports a violation of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the law that prohibits sex discrimination in federally funded educational programs. Jenner claimed that if the rule becomes final, it would “kill women’s sports,” and she alleged that the effort is backed by George Soros, a liberal philanthropist who is a favorite target of right-wingers.

Mainstream science doesn’t support claims that trans women are at an athletic advantage over cisgender women, but a large swathe of the public does not seem to agree. Typical comments from users point out that:
“Jenner is the single most qualified person to speak on trans women competing in women’s sports, since if she were able to compete as a woman in the Olympics during her time, not only would she have swept every category easily with record times, but her records would perhaps never be beaten by any biological woman.” (Michael)
Alejandro opines that, “Men are naturally stronger than women, it’s anatomy and genetics, there is no disputing that. The presence of more muscle mass and size automatically makes it so that any sport that is dictated by muscle or size, a trans woman has the advantage.”

Randy underlines that, “Mediocre males in men’s sports are now shattering women’s records left and right. If there is no advantage, how come we never see a woman who transitioned to a man shatter male records?”
An avid Trump supporter, Jenner further denounced what she called “radical gender ideology.” She said she was gender dysphoric from a young age, but if a teacher had discussed gender identity issues with her, “it might have just changed my whole life, and all for the worse.”
Some users on Youtube are not so tactful and comment on the hypocrisy of Jenner’s current position when she herself benefited from being trans.

“Caitlin, you should have never taken the WOMAN of the Year award. That one itself is an unfair lie and a disadvantage to women. Men can dress however they want and have as many surgeries and HRTs as they like. But that will never make them women. Thank you.”
Still others expressed admiration for her objectivity and clear-sightedness.
