Lasata, the seven-acre East Hampton, New York estate where Jackie Kennedy spent her summers as a child, is on the market and you can have it for a measly 55 million dollars.
Kennedy’s grandfather, John Vernou Bouvier, Jr., owned the home—whose name comes from a Native American word for “Place of Peace”—in the 1920s.

The property at 121 Further Lane includes the eight-bedroom main house, two-bedroom guest cottage, caretaker’s cottage, pool house, and a three-car garage, on approximately 7 acres. The house has only had four owners in its lifetime since it was built in 1917. It was last sold in early 2018, bought by producer David Zander from fashion label Reed Krakoff. After he moved in, Zander redid the house with new interiors from interior designer, Pierre Yovanovich, and new gardens by landscape architect Louis Benech, so the property and the house will not actually reflect what Jackie saw in her time there.

“Lasata is considered one of our region’s most important and beautiful estates. Under the seller’s stewardship, the home’s interior has been painstakingly updated and enhanced while preserving its remarkable history. It’s an iconic property and truly one-of-a-kind,” O’Neill told T&C in a statement.
Masterfully designed by renowned architect Arthur C. Jackson, the property is adorned with century-old Linden, London Planes, Cork, and American Elm trees.
What hasn’t changed is its proximity to the ocean, the soothing sound of the waves can be heard throughout the expansive eight-bedroom main house.
