Ever had the jitters before an important party? The gown, the shoes, the hair style. And what if someone else turned up in the same outfit?
Now imagine how much worse it could be if you also had to choose the right tiara for the occasion.
This is the dilemma that the women in the Royal Family are facing as they approach the big day of King Charles III’s coronation. And from the gossip that is spreading, it’s not pretty.
Queen Camilla and Princess Catherine tussling over the same tiara? Princess Anne not sure which one to choose? The minor princesses relegated to the leftovers?
Adding to the stress is that the women in the Royal Family have only just discovered what they are expected to wear for this event—the degree of formality, that is–so planning their accessories and coordinating which royal will wear which tiara has clearly become a big issue.
The women in the family who could wear tiaras include; Duchess Sophie, Princess Anne, and Princess Catherine. Non-working royals such as Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice and Zara Tindall have all worn tiaras for special occasions – such as their wedding days – but it is unclear whether they will also have to wear tiaras for this grand occasion.
“It’s all very frantic, complete chaos to be frank” one source revealed to The Mirror. They added that there are a lot of changing plans which are causing problems. “There is a plan, which is supposed to be the blueprint of how the day should operate, but things are changing daily which is causing massive headaches,” they said.
“It’s fair to say it will go down to the wire, but there is huge confidence everything will go to plan on the day”, the source added, “The King and Queen Consort want it to be perfect as does everyone involved which is why everything is being done to make it so.”
Well at least there is one complication that won’t be adding to the stress and drama, since Meghan Markle, Harry’s “princess” is staying home for the occasion. Not only does that free another tiara for the picking, but the fear among the royals was that if she attended, she would be wired to record all the juicy gossip to later pass on to Oprah in another scandalous interview.
Indeed, one source revealed that, “the Royal Family are ‘terrified’ to tell Prince Harry and Meghan Markle anything about the coronation as they fear their ‘everything’s for sale’ mentality will lead to leaks.”
