A 29-year-old woman was rescued in Navarre, Florida, after leaving a note asking for help in the bathroom of a Jersey Mike’s Subs fast food restaurant. According to a Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office press release, the note, found by an employee, contained a desperate plea and the address of the home where the woman was being held against her will.
“It was a small crumpled piece of paper stuck next to the toilet paper dispenser. It looked like trash, but it said, Please help me. I am at this address in Navarre. Please call the police for a welfare check,” recounted employee Eleanor Coffee.
Authorities, arriving at the listed address, not far from the fast food restaurant, found the woman with obvious signs of abuse. She was immediately transported to the hospital, where she was found to have multiple injuries and several fractures.
Her partner, Jordan Williams, 34, a wrestler known by the stage name “Jayden Steele,” was arrested on charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault and other crimes. After the arrest, it emerged that the man had already been involved in numerous incidents of domestic violence. He is currently in custody without the possibility of bail.
