A May day turned into a nightmare for influencer Emilie Kiser. Her three-year-old son, Trigg, died on Sunday at a hospital in Arizona, six days after a tragic accident in the backyard pool of their home in Chandler, just outside Phoenix.
According to local police reports, on May 12 authorities responded to a call reporting a possible drowning. When first responders arrived on the scene, they found an unconscious child, who had already been pulled from the water, and immediately began CPR. The boy was then transported in critical condition to Chandler Regional Hospital, where he fought for his life for nearly a week before passing away.
A police spokesperson expressed heartfelt condolences to the family, describing the incident as “a moment of unimaginable grief.” They also noted that the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is still ongoing, and that no further details will be released until the inquiry is concluded, out of respect for the family’s privacy.
Emilie Kiser is well known for her content on TikTok, where she shares everyday moments as a mother and wife, followed by more than 3.4 million users. She and her husband, Brady, had recently welcomed their second child, Theodore, born in March. Trigg would have celebrated his fourth birthday on July 14.
The news deeply affected the online community, as thousands of followers have left messages of sympathy under the 26-year-old’s recent posts, offering their support and figuratively standing beside her and her loved ones. As of now, the family has not issued a public statement regarding the loss.
Beyond the private sorrow, this tragedy shines a light on a critical issue: child safety around water. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, drowning is the leading cause of death among children aged 1 to 4. May also happens to be National water Safety Month, with campaigns aimed at promoting awareness, education, and the prevention of such accidents through responsible information and supervision.
