A Wisconsin teenager is accused of killing his mother and stepfather to finance a plot to assassinate President Donald Trump and overthrow the U.S. government, according to documents filed by federal prosecutors.
Nikita Casap, 17, allegedly carried out the double homicide on March 1. Deputies from the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office discovered the bodies of Tatiana Casap, 35, and Donald Mayer, 51, inside the family’s home. Casap was arrested days later in Kansas and initially charged with premeditated murder, concealment of a corpse, and grand theft.
But the case quickly expanded in scope.
Federal prosecutors are now pursuing charges including seditious conspiracy, attempted assassination of a president, and attempted use of weapons of mass destruction. A search warrant affidavit states that investigators found documents and contacts on Casap’s phone linking him to the Order of Nine Angles, a neo-Nazi network known for its extremist, white supremacist ideology.
FBI analysis of writings attributed to Casap revealed explicit calls for Trump’s elimination, describing him as a barrier to the “salvation of the white race” – even though the President himself is usually associated with white supremacist movements – and referenced a planned armed revolution. Among digital files seized by authorities were images of Adolf Hitler paired with slogans celebrating an “Aryan triumph.”
According to the federal affidavit, Casap had made contact with individuals who allegedly supported his plans and helped fund his efforts. Investigators believe the murder of the two parents may have occurred in an attempt to steal cash and payment cards to finance his criminal intentions. Investigators say he purchased a drone and explosive components, which they believe were intended for use in a terrorist attack.
A preliminary hearing on the state charges was held April 9. Casap has not entered a plea or made any public statements. He remains in custody ahead of his next court appearance, scheduled for May 7.
