Elon Musk has launched a new political initiative, offering a $1 million prize to voters in Wisconsin as part of a strategy to influence the state’s Supreme Court election. The move is seen as a push to tip the scales in favor of the Republican Party. Musk made the announcement Wednesday on X, where he posted: “Exciting to announce our first $1 million prize for supporting our petition against activist judges in Wisconsin! The next $1 million prize will be announced in 2 days.”
This latest move underscores Musk’s increasing political involvement and use of his financial resources to advance his views. The Wisconsin Supreme Court election, set for April 1, will determine which party controls the state’s highest court. Musk, along with former President Donald Trump, has voiced opposition to what they describe as “liberal” interpretations of the law by Democratic-leaning judges. They are rallying behind Republican candidate Brad Schimel, a former state attorney general, who is challenging Democratic candidate Susan Crawford.
Trump, a staunch supporter of Schimel, took to Truth Social to encourage his followers to vote. “All voters who believe in common sense should mobilize as soon as possible to vote for Brad Schimel,” he posted. Musk’s involvement is seen as a key effort in bolstering Republican influence in the state’s judiciary.
