Actor Johnny Wactor, best known for portraying Brando Corbin on the ABC TV series “General Hospital,” died on Saturday following a gunshot wound.
Scarlett Wactor, Wactor’s mother, told KABC-TV Los Angeles that her son was shot after he reportedly interrupted three male suspects who were trying to take a catalytic converter from his car. The event occurred on Saturday at around 3:25 am PT, as stated by the Los Angeles Police Department.
After working at a rooftop bar, Ms. Wactor reported her son saw someone at his car. He initially believed that his automobile was being towed, but one of the masked suspects subsequently opened fire on him as he got closer to his car.
Wactor was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead, while the suspects left the scene and escaped to an unidentified destination.
“There are not enough words to tell you what a beautiful soul he was. He was a kind loving son and brother, he lived life to the fullest. He set goals and went after them,” her statement reads, adding “There is a very large hole in our hearts and lives,” the victim’s mother said in a statement.
“The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken to hear of Johnny Wactor’s untimely passing,” a statement on on “General Hospital’s” official social media account reads. “He was truly one of a kind and a pleasure to work with each and every day. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones during this difficult time.”
Wactor, 37 appeared in “General Hospital” as a recurrent role from 2020 to 2022. He has also had appearances in a number of other TV shows, such as “Westworld,” “Criminal Minds,” and “Siberia.”
