Guns and liberty are the supreme law of the land – some Donald Trump supporters semmingly think.
During a recent Trump event in South Carolina, Jimmy Kimmel’s team went to see what citizenship-related questions self-described “patriots” could answer correctly – leading to an utter failure by MAGA enthusiasts.
“What is the supreme law of the land?” was the first question. The former president’s supporters were unable to surmise that it was, in fact, the Constitution. Actually, not a single one of them could come up with a response; the only one who did said “guns and liberty”.
They were then questioned on the number of amendments to the Constitution, which is 27. Trump aficionados’ estimates, however, varied from 10 to 30. Once more, not a single one of them answered correctly.
Only one participant correctly answered the following question, which asked them to name the first three words of the Constitution (“We the People”).
“The people who support Trump and the MAGA agenda are under the impression that America was founded on the idea of excluding those who do not share your beliefs,” Kimmel said, introducing the piece on his show. “Which is the opposite of the truth.”
During the Academy Awards show, Kimmel had ridiculed Trump by reciting his critical assessment of Kimmel’s hosting abilities in front of the entire globe.
