An early Sunday morning shooting in Washington, DC, left two people dead and five injured, according to authorities.
The Metropolitan Police Department reported that the attack happened at around 3 in the morning close to the Kennedy Recreation Center, at the junction of 7th and P St., Northwest.
The victims, who were all identified as adults, were brought to nearby hospitals, according to Metropolitan Police Executive Assistant Chief Jeffrey Carroll at a press conference. There was no information available about their situation.
It’s unknown who opened fire or what prompted the incident, which occurred approximately a dozen streets northeast of the White House. No suspects were named or any arrests made in the case, according to the police.
