GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert’s eldest son was taken into custody on Tuesday and is charged with 22 crimes in connection with a series of suspected thefts in Colorado.
The Rifle Police Department reported that Tyler Boebert, 18, was charged with five felonies, four of which were related to criminal possession of identification documents belonging to several victims, and one conspiracy to commit crime.
Additionally, the teenager is charged with four counts of first-degree criminal trespassing of an automobile with intent to commit a crime, four charges of identity theft, possession with intent to use, and two charges for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The adolescent was also found guilty of three minor infractions involving theft of less than $300.
The congressman’s son has run afoul of the law on previous occasions. In 2022, he received a “careless driving causing bodily injury” ticket after flipping his father’s SUV into a Garfield County stream bed, injuring his 19-year-old passenger. He was later required to participate in a “Alive at 25” driving awareness program as part of a plea agreement.
Although the lawsuit was withdrawn in favor of a “defective vehicle for headlights” charge, Boebert never showed up in court. The teenager was then given a bench warrant and, according to Westword, he subsequently phoned the court to ask for the hearing to be rescheduled at a later time when he would appear virtually and turn in the “Alive at 25” completion certificate.
The 18-year-old was also accused of unlawfully possessing a schedule IV controlled substance and drug paraphernalia after it was discovered that his backpack included unprescribed Xanax tablets and a “silver marijuana grinder w/small amount of marijuana.”

Nevertheless, on the day of her son’s arrest, at 4:45 p.m. CT, the Republican congresswoman claimed on Instagram that “The Biden crime family will go down as the most corrupt family in American history.”
