King Charles III is set to undergo treatment for an enlarged prostate, as confirmed by Buckingham Palace on Wednesday. The announcement coincides with recent news of Princess Kate’s hospitalization.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Buckingham Palace stated, “In common with thousands of men each year, the King has sought treatment for an enlarged prostate. His Majesty’s condition is benign, and he will attend the hospital next week for a corrective procedure.”
The palace also revealed that the king’s public engagements will be temporarily postponed to allow for a period of rest during his recovery from the upcoming procedure. This development aligns with Kensington Palace’s recent announcement regarding Princess Kate’s admission to the hospital for a “planned abdominal surgery.”
Further details from Kensington Palace indicate that the Princess of Wales, aged 42, underwent a “successful” surgery on Tuesday. She is expected to remain hospitalized for a duration of 10 to 14 days before returning home to continue her recovery.
